Stop laying the blame on the president

Blaming Obama for the current state of the WORLD - because it is the world, not just the U.S., and expecting him to have performed miracles at half a year in office, when the problems have roots decades old, is unrealistic. Could ANY candidate have performed such miracles? No. In fact, you can find that McCain, Dean, Huckabee and others have made that clear as well.
The implication that people who did vote for Obama are as pleased as punch about the current world situation doesn't help anything. They aren't. They're in the same boat as everyone else.
People take umbrage with the use of certain words and phrases. It happens because all too often, it IS hate speech to say "those of us who didn't vote for Obama are extremely distressed" over whatever the topic, incuding a lack of cure for pine beetles. The other candidates are no more miracle workers than he is.
In fact, this economic cycle isn't anything new, it has happened several times since the formation of the U.S., and before. Most folks just aren't aware of it though, because other things were going well - like the weather and crops and so forth. Just like this year. We know about the 1930s so well because we also had a several year drought and that made pretty much nothing go well. Plus we were at the end of a war, so suddenly formerly employed men were now home and jobless.
We still have a war, and all those soldiers are still employed. It sounds callous, but for a change, the war is actually a good thing for us. Where would we be if all those men and women came home at once, and most were discharged?
We have a good weather year - I don't know if you've been out on the growing spots of the states, but hay is going to be able to be cut several times this year (already has once in several areas), the soy, corn and other crops are looking lush and full and healthy - there will be good yield this year.
And that is all just fate, or weather or what have you - not something that can be lain at any politician's feet as kudos or condemnation.
I, for one, amd highly tired of having the current state of the economy lain at the feet of the current president as if he's to blame for EVERY ill in the world. Time to step back and look at what all the presidents have done since the 70s and 80s - and yes, it truly does go that far back- and find the faults there, if blame must be lain. And it falls equally on democratic and republican politicians alike.
Perhaps WE should be blamed for not paying attention better, for not paying off our homes early, for perhaps wanting more than our pockets could withstand, for having mortgages, and credit cards, and other loans, instead of doing it like our grandparents and only having what you could reasonably pay for, or what you could pay for in cash. We're none of us innocent in this, so maybe we need to start pointing the fingers at ourselves rather than a man who is doing the best he can with what he has and stop acting like, just because he's the first black president, he's a messiah who can fix everything with a wand and a sorting hat.
The state of my personal economy and how it's dealt with lays SOLEY on me, just as the state of everyone's personal economy lays on everyone. Yes, we get upset when a job is lost, a new tax idea is implimented that penalizes us for not using every vehicle we have year round, but bottom line - how many bills I have, my credit score, how much savings I have and what I choose to do for the next 50 years of my life is soley my responsibility, and personally, I'd like to see a LOT more people step up and start taking responsibility for what's happening with their lifes and economies rather than pushing the blame off on whoever happens to be in the president's seat.
YOU make your life what it is, not some guy in an oval office a few thousand miles away who doesn't even know that you, personally, exist.
My deepest sympthies to all who have lost a job this year, and/or are in economic straights- I'm right there in the boat with you and I'll do what I can to help you - and myself - get that boat to shore and up on dry land. Until then, keep your chin up and you won't breathe in any water.

All very true. Obama is doing his best to get the country out of the hole that Bush put us in.
